| production of The Nutcracker by the age of 10. He was a natural. Incessant teasing during his highschool years made him turn his back on Ballet. He quit his mother’s ballet company as well as public school and started attending Dublin’s Gaiety School of Drama. He excelled there as well, performing the lead in A Midsummer Night’s Dream his senior year. At the age of 17, he informed his friends and family of his homosexuality. Though his family was supportive, he found that the small town he lived in outside of Dublin was not so understanding. After graduation, at the age of 18, he packed his bags and flew to New York with dreams of making it big on Broadway and living in a city where his life would be accepted. He enrolled in the New York Conservatory of the Performing Arts where he earned his BFA in Theatre and Dance. His performances there included roles as Tony in West Side Story and Danny in Grease. Even through all that, his love of the Ballet was strong. After leaving the NYCPA, he auditioned and was accepted into the Joffrey Ballet but after only one year, Hollywood called to him. At the age of 23, he found himself once again packing his bags for a big move. Within a short time, Rupert had found his way to us is currently making the audition rounds looking for that first big break. Rupert currently lives in West Hollywood. |
